Which Methodology?
I have been in the ministry for over 30 years yet I still have a lot to learn about leading an efective church. There are many experts out there promoting the "right" way to grow a church. As I studied the Bible it seems there are many ways to correctly serve the Lord. A pastor needs to seek the Lord as which methodology is right for him. For John the Baptist the right way was to stay in one location and invite people to come to him. Jesus did the opposite and took the minsitry to the people going town to town. Which is the correct way?
Christmas Joy
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people." Luke 2:10
No Religious People Allowed
The Bible study from last Sunday is still working on me. As a pastor of a church I am trying to follow the lifestyle presented in the Gospels by our Lord. The world sees religious people as arrogant, critical, and intolerant. Unfortunately, I have met many religious people that do act this way. My goal is to avoid the self-righteous attitude that Jesus condemned in Luke 18:9-14. With the Lord’s help I will treat all people with respect. This is not only my personal goal but also what I desire for all the people that attend FBC.
Starting to Blog
I know a lot of people are blogging these days. While I am not sure yet exactly how I am going to use this, I thought it would be beneficial in helping me to be disciplined in keeping in contact with the church, maintaining a sense of freshness to the website, and helping me develop my writing abiblities.
I pray that God will somehow use the musings I post here to encourage you in your journey toward a greater and deeper realtionship with Him.
Check back for more soon, and keep me accountable to keep up the habit of blogging.
God Bless,
Pastor Bill
